Eight Mile Creek, located in the heart
of the NoLita district of downtown Manhattan, is our attempt to
bring a small part of the Aussie dining and drinking experience to
New York City.
Upstairs, in our New York Times-rated 2 star
restaurant, the emphasis is on food that showcases modern Australian
cuisine, a cooking movement that is revolutionizing the dining scene
back home. And if you’re talking food, the talk inevitably
moves to wine, and we take wine very seriously at Eight Mile Creek.
Downstairs in the creek bar, the relaxed atmosphere of a local Aussie
pub is the goal with cold Aussie beer-a-plenty, footy and cricket on
the TV’s, and a more casual Bistro menu available. And what is an
Aussie restaurant without a place to eat and drink in the great
outdoors? With the opening of our new OuT-the-bAcK garden in
June 2003, located out-the-back of our premises on Mulberry Street, true alfresco
dining has come to Eight Mile Creek, no mean feat in congested New
York City! |
